I woke up at dawn in a strange hotel room. Where was I? Why was it so early? Oh yeah, we were going fishing. Not big boat full of strangers fishing, but just four of us and the captain fishing. We started at 8 a.m., early for me, but late for the serious fishermen. Then I caught the grouper. Who’s serious now?
It didn’t last. Soon I was turning green, lying down trying not to get sick. I was ready to go back; I had my grouper. But the serious fishermen wanted to fish and fish and fish and fish. We stayed out until three, then finally we were back on land. My color slowly returned to normal as I watched the mate filet the fish. That night we had grouper for dinner. It doesn’t get any fresher than that.
